In an increasingly secular age, how to have an online presence able to help enquiring hearts find an authentic possibility for faith has been on my heart for some time. The aim of this site has been to make something available for those drawn towards faith but unable to be persuaded beyond the prevailing views of those opposing it as a rejection of all reason. The pages here presented hope to offer something of value for any person wishing to make a serious enquiry about belief, faith and God.
In my own experience I found many contemporary views of faith to be persuasive but not in the end conclusive. To become more assured about the validity and value of faith has not always been a simple or straightforward process. Over time, however, I began to understand that the pathway to faith in God was not to be found in an engagement of intellectual reasoning alone, but neither was it arrived at in an abandonment or defiance of reason. I began to realise that it has an important experiential component that comes through hearing and responding to a language and call upon the heart, which is how God ‘speaks’, because it is integral to His character and nature and is therefore how He reaches out to us.
I have a hope that this approach will draw others into taking a similar journey. I have found it to be a rewarding one, making struggles and challenges along the way to have been well worthwhile. Over the years, there is an invitation from God that comes with a promise that I have found to be both reliable and enduring (though not always ‘instant’), found in the following words of Jesus -
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11: 9-10 NLT -
With gratitude for your visit, I encourage your persistence and commend this promise (above) to you . . .
